Fifth Grade Beginning Band
Welcome Fifth Grade Families!
You've come to the right place. Getting the Fifth Grade Beginning Band up & going takes a few steps. Here is the order of those steps:
Second week of school - Mr. Renchen comes around to each class to talk briefly about Band.
The next week - Mr. Renchen meets individually with each class and "demos" each instrument so students can hear what they sound like. Students should begin thinking of what instrument they want to play. The choices are: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, or Percussion.
Week after that - Mr. Renchen meets with any students interested in joining to answer questions, etc.
Tuesday, September 10 - Band Registration Night takes place between 4:00pm-7:30pm in the elementary music room (Parents & Students will come for 10 minutes to finalize what instrument they will play in band)
The very next week, the instruments get delivered and then we get to play them!!

5th Grade Band meets from:
11:55am - 12:25pm
The schedule the first few weeks is wonky. I will let students & teachers know what instruments are on which days. A paper calendar of the band schedule will be handed out monthly once we get into October. Students can expect to have band once per week.
